The saga of the century
The years of seduction
1923. Guccio Gucci creates the label with the two “G”s. Very quickly, Gucci becomes one of the most highly appreciated and most profitable luxury goods brands. Positioned in fine leather goods of exception, Gucci enhances its power of seduction with the creation of jewellery, watches and ready-to-wear. Its customers include Jackie Kennedy and the famous “Bouvier bag”, Princess Grace de Monaco, for whom the Flora pattern was created, a multi-coloured print of rural flowers, whose success was repeated in 2005...
The revival of a label

2004. Departure of the Ford/de Sole partnership. PPR establishes a new manager/designer team for each brand in the Gucci Group. Frida Giannini is appointed creative director of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories for Gucci.
2006. Frida Giannini becomes creative director for the entire Gucci brand.
