07/30/2007 : Stella McCartney to launch Lingerie Collection
London (July 30th, 2007): Stella McCartney announces today a long term partnership with Bendon, one of the world's leading intimate apparel companies to manufacture and distribute a Stella McCartney lingerie collection. The first collection, for spring/summer 2008, is set to launch in stores in January 2008.
The lingerie collections will combine Bendon's expertise in functionality and fit with Stella's unique design sensibility, signature color palette and attention to detail to create aspirational styles that will reflect a modern woman's lingerie needs.
Stella McCartney comments: ''This is a natural progression for me. Lingerie is an obsession of mine, I have been inspired by it for many, many years and ever since my degree collection at St Martins, I have always used it in my work.’’
The lingerie collection will have an emphasis on naturally sexy, confident and modern designs. It will be constructed from luxurious fabrics including finest silks, organic cottons and georgette silk chiffons in a signature Stella McCartney palette of soft and utterly feminine shades of vintage pink, cream, blue and pearl grey.
Marco Bizzarri, CEO of Stella McCartney added: “This is a real partnership with Bendon and a unique opportunity for Stella McCartney to address her sensibility for Lingerie. This is a product category that requires a high level of technical knowledge. By combining our different expertise, we will be able to achieve a high quality garment with a unique point of difference in the market.”

The Stella McCartney lingerie collection will be available for market in August and will launch in high end department stores, specialty stores and Stella McCartney stores worldwide in January 2008.
