10/26/2006 : 2006 Third Quarter Sales
PPR revenue up 7% at end-september 2006
· Retail holding up well: +4.5% at end-September
· Excellent performance by Luxury Goods: +18.5% at end-September
For the first nine months of 2006, PPR posted revenues from continuing operations of € 12.6 billion, up 7.0% in actual terms and up 6.0% on a comparable basis versus the same period in 2005. Revenue generated abroad increased by 9.5% and represented 56% of total Group sales.
In the 3rd quarter of 2006, Group sales came out at € 4.3 billion, up 5.8% in actual terms and up 4.8% on a comparable basis on the third quarter of 2005.
François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PPR, stated:
“In the third quarter of the year, PPR posted satisfactory revenue growth. Companies in the Retail division notably benefited from acquisitions which enabled them to strengthen their positions in certain markets. The Luxury Goods brands posted excellent performance, building on an already very high basis for comparison. Thanks to its positioning in two businesses, PPR is continuing its strategy of international growth.”
