Developping employee relations

PPR promotes freedom of expression of its  employees and dialogue with employee representative bodies. PPR has illustrated this desire with the inhouse opinion survey and two forums for dialogue at Group level.

In-house opinion survey: “What’s the weather like?”

The opinion survey "What's the weather like?", conducted every two years, measures employee satisfaction on the basis of 65 questions common to all companies and countries. These questions concern issues such as work relations, employee commitment, training and personal development, work conditions or even customer focus.

In October 2007, the 4th "What's the weather like?" survey conducted within the Retail division companies and the Luxury Goods division entities.

The Group's forums for dialogue

• The PPR Group Works Council

Creation date: 1993

Function: the PPR Group Works Council is now the employee representation body for all companies of the Luxury Goods and Retail divisions located in France. Meet in plenary sessions twice a year, its members are informed of the Group's strategies, economic and financial challenges and human resources management actions.

Composition: 30 members (members of the works committee)

News: In 2006, issues such as integration by employing disabled workers or the optimisation of employee protection schemes were covered.

• The PPR European Works Council (EWC)

Creation date: 2000

Function: the PPR European Works Council is an interactive body at a European level. A real cross-border institution, the European Works Council supplements existing national employee representation bodies. Meeting twice a year in a three-day plenary session, the EWC is informed or consulted on any cross-border issues affecting the employees of the Group.

Composition: Comprising 21 members and one observer, the European Works Council covers 17 European countries in which the PPR Group Luxury Goods and Retail division companies are located.

News: In 2006, the EWC covered topics such as the employee opinion survey or the Group's corporate social responsibility strategy.
It also launched a discussion on the themes of diversity and work protection. These discussions continue during 2007 with the view to understanding the various national approaches to these two topics and determining common areas of improvement, particularly by relying on successful experiences.
