PPR and disabilities
With two years' worth of results to show for its Handicap Mission policy, PPR pursues its effort under a new partnership with the AGEFIPH.
On June 1st, PPR and the AGEFIPH, the Disabled Persons' Job Training and Placement Fund Management Association, decided to renew their partnership for two years under the terms of their agreement.
This partnership is a continuation of the undertakings and actions taken to employ disabled persons within the Group. Under the scheme, 466 disabled job placements have been made since 2004, 63% of employees who became unfit were kept in employment, and numerous operations to raise awareness about disabilities have been carried out among the whole workforce.
This new agreement with the AGEFIPH is founded on the experience gained during the last two years. It extends PPR's Handicap Mission policy and expands it in some new directions.
This includes two newcomers: CFAO and GUCCI Group in France, who will carry out a review of their disabled persons employment situation, a preliminary step to implementing action plans tailored to their priorities.
It also sets new objectives. Under the agreement, PPR Holding, CFAO, FNAC and REDCATS have undertaken to recruit a total of 75 disabled persons by May 2009, to maintain an employee retention level at least equivalent to previous years and to carry on the work of building awareness about the disabled among all its employees.
Finally, some new areas such as the training of disabled workers (acceptance of trainees from foundation courses or job training, reviewing our disabled employees' access to training) and the liaison with higher education (relations with colleges, promotion of the disabled among future managers) will broaden the original design of the Handicap Mission policy.
As one of the earlier partners, CONFORAMA is now taking its commitment to a higher level. The company will henceforth go its own way in implementing its policy after the signature of an agreement with employees' representatives for employing disabled staff.
For the forthcoming 11th National Disabled Persons' Employment Week, and in particular on next November 13th, all the group's companies will take part in different events. Disabilities concern everyone. And what will you be doing?
