"A wonderful warm dreamlike planet where the senses are aroused”

Dynamic back to school at Fnac!

Fnac launches fnaclive.com and a new house call service to bring technology to people's homes, and caps it all with a new advertising tag: “Agitateur de curiosité”1

Following fnac.com, its e-commerce site and fnacmusic, its music download site, here comes fnaclive.com, Fnac's new community and cultural website. In true Web 2.0 style, fnaclive.com puts the emphasis on interactivity, sharing and discovery. In the words of Fnac CEO Denis Olivennes, “The idea is to encourage our customers to express themselves and to incite them to contribute their own content so as to enrich the site”. This new website features the 6,000 events organised by Fnac each year, enough to assuage the curiosity of websurfers. They will be able to see interviews with artists or authors who have been featured at Fnac's forums. They can download a whole show case or masterclass to listen to again whenever they feel like it, or relive the best moments of the “fnacindétendances” festival on “Paris Plage” (Paris beach). In a word, help themselves to the world of Fnac. But the site is also intended to be a forum for direct exchanges with customers. With that in mind, they are invited to put up their own videos, take part in numerous competitions or give their opinions in one of the site's blogs.
Fnac at home
Who hasn't had occasion to curse his computer? Threatened his printer with dire punishments? Luckily, Fnac has decided to go into action, and knock on our doors. So that we may never feel abandoned in front of a blank screen, the company has now started to offer new services at home, such as installation, assistance and training, even if the material was not bought at Fnac. These services come under the ambit of the Social Cohesion Act, otherwise known as the Borloo Law, which allows for a 50% tax rebate on services at home. Moreover, since the rates are fixed regardless of the time taken, it would be silly not to go for it…
"Agitateur de curiosité"1

All that reflects Fnac's purpose in life, which is summed up in its new publicity campaign: “Agitateur de curiosité”1. Always stirring the curiosity of its members, its customers, and its visitors. Joining the debate, speaking its mind, advising, opening doors, encouraging discoveries, welcoming pioneers and enthusiasts. The Fnac trademark with its smooth lines and pop colours, stands for a warm dreamlike planet
"where the senses are alerted and the curiosity aroused. You don't go to Fnac merely to buy yourself a record, a book or a mobile phone", explains Denis Olivennes, "you also go to be enriched and have your horizons widened”.

1: “being an exciter of curiosity” (the English translation of the baseline has not yet been decided)
