Guaranteeing employee health and safety is considered to be a fundamental duty by PPR and its brands and companies. Hence, the brands and companies have rolled out procedures and action programmes to identify, assess and limit the predominant risks relating to their activities. These prevention efforts also cover risks that could impact the regions where the brands and companies are established as well as the players.

Bodies overseeing risk management, health and safety in each company

Employee health and safety issues are seen as a prime concern and most of the time they benefit from structures that are specifically dedicated and which extend beyond regulatory bodies such as the CHSCT (Hygiene, Safety and Working Conditions Committee). The objective is to surpass the regulatory framework by developing bodies that are truly dedicated to the subject.

The brands located outside of France have also set up committees in order to guarantee employee health and safetyFor example, Puma has set up a Health and Safety Committee at the company head office in Germany, and in 14 of its entities around the world.

Specific company programmes that stress employee involvement and training

Regardless of the authority managing the projects, each branch develops its own long-term specific procedures and programmes based on the scope of the potential risks identified. A constant effort is made in regard to awareness-raising and training for employees, the front-line of prevention.

In 2007, 10,668 employees received safety training, representing a total of 71,627 training hours.
