Although ink cartridges represent less than 1% of waste recovered in 2007, they may represent a threat to the environment (soil pollution and noxious gas emissions during their incineration), even though the materials used in their composition may be easily recycled (metals, plastics).
Hence, multiple initiatives were adopted in the Group’s brands and companies in order to organise the recovery of ink cartridges and to take advantage of this recovery to support integration structures or assist populations with major sanitary, economic or social difficulties.
This is the case, for example, in Fnac stores in France or at the CFAO head office where the collection of used ink cartridges attracts the support of channels set up to help with reintegration and the search for employment in France or associations working to improve sanitary conditions in Africa.
